Conversions of agricultural structures, such as barns, are more expensive than traditional building because they often include rebuilding the original structure, but you'll end up with an individual property with a history that's expressed in the very fabric of the building. It will also be in a good position in a good location where you can't normally build. Expect to spend £300,000 to £400,000 converting a barn that's a typical size of 2,500 sq ft - you could end up with something that is worth £1m.
